At The Epicurean Dispatch, we are less interested in telling you exactly where to go, exactly what to book or how to move through the world. We are more interested in starting conversations — about how we travel, how we taste, how we notice, how we choose beauty and how we allow ourselves pleasure.

We believe inspiration should feel generous, not prescriptive. That the best discoveries are often the ones you arrive at sideways - through a story, a photograph, a passing line in an essay that opens a door you didn’t know you wanted to walk through.

Our philosophy is not rooted in indulgence alone. That would be far too simple. It is about engaging fully with the circumstances around you. Being awake to it. To taste and scent, fabrics and friendships.

We care less about ‘what’s new’ and more about what’s meaningful. The family-run trattoria across the street from the one with the queue. The places, people and ideas that feel quietly extraordinary. Those certain, select infamous places that are worth their hype.

Ultimately, we hope our stories don’t just tell you what exists — but invite you to trust your own curiosity more deeply. To follow threads. To build confidence in your own way of seeing. And, perhaps, to share what you find with us in return.

ABOUT THE EPICUREAN DISPATCH *

The Epicurean Dispatch is a digital magazine devoted to the art of living well — through travel, beauty, food, interiors, culture and slow, sensual storytelling. It exists at the intersection of art and everyday life: aspirational yet intimate, elevated yet human.

ABOUT OUR EDITOR-IN-CHIEF

Lex Duff is a film photojournalist, travel writer and luxury curator whose work explores the sensual, nostalgic and deeply human ties between place, memory and pleasure. She is the founding Editor-in-Chief of The Epicurean Dispatch.

Her work has appeared in leading global titles including YOLO Journal, The Irish Times, Women’s Health UK, Small Luxury Hotels’ Swoon, Mr & Mrs Smith, The Spectator, Harper’s Bazaar, Lodestars Anthology, The Italy Insider and more. Her creative practice spans Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe and everywhere in between, with a career built on long-form travel storytelling and film-based visual work.

Born in Australia and now living between Italy, Spain and Ireland, Lex brings a cross-continental perspective to her editorial leadership; merging Italian domesticity, Irish introspection and a lifelong hedonistic philosophy into the core identity of the magazine.

Her creative trajectory shifted when she fell in love with film photography - the slowness of it, the intentionality, the reverence for a single moment held in a frame.

As Editor-in-Chief, she oversees the magazine’s creative direction across travel, fashion, food, interiors and culture, with a focus on sensory narrative, emotional texture and lived experience. Her vision is to create a home for intelligent pleasure.

She is deeply committed to championing both emerging and established creatives whose work brings new texture to the contemporary landscape. Through curated features, photographic essays, personal vignettes and seasonal editions, she is building a publication that is aspirational yet intimate, refined yet deeply human.

“The Epicurean Dispatch exists to remind people that beauty matters — that living well is an art form. My goal is to create work that nourishes the reader, expands their world and gives pleasure the respect it deserves.”
